Art therapy for teens, college students, & women in Tacoma
(Plus online therapy for residents of Washington State)
Hey! I’m Katrina
My name is Katrina Van Strien (LMHCA, ATR-P), I’m an Artist, Art Therapist & Mental Health Counselor who would be honored to help you work through the anxieties of life. While anxiety is an essential part of life, it can be crippling. Anxiety can take many forms — maybe you’ve been battling perfectionism, navigating your cultural identity, or wanting your relationships to look different but don’t know where to start. Anxiety is something that can be channeled into creativity, meaning, and forward movement. This is where art therapy comes in.
Thought art therapy was only for kids?

How it works
Step 1
Schedule a free, 15-minute phone consultation to ask any questions you may have and find out if we are a good fit.
Step 2
If we are a good fit, I’ll send you some intake paperwork before scheduling our 80-minute initial session. During this first session, we will make art, discuss what you think is most pressing, along with relevant history, and goals to create a treatment plan you feel good about.
Step 3
Meeting weekly (50 minutes/week) will likely go on until you have reached your goals for therapy, not when you reach perfection. Art therapy is a tool. Your art will always be there for you as an outlet, but you won’t be in therapy forever!
“The function of art is to do more than tell it like it is – it’s to imagine what is possible.”
